Meet Dr. Martin Doll, O.D.
Certified Optometrist & Optometric PhysicianDr. Martin Doll has been in practice for over 15 years. He graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry, located in Chicago, Illinois, in 1996. He graduated with honors and was given the Bausch & Lomb student leadership award, and was presented with the prestigious Gold Key Award; only 10% of practicing Optometrists are allowed to be members of this group.
In Optometry school, Dr. Doll had rotations in Sports Vision, Pediatrics, Low Vision, Retina, Contact Lens, and General optometry. He also did a research project, in conjunction with 2 professors, which was presented to the American Academy of Optometry on Vitelliforme Macular Degeneration Disease.
During his tenure, Dr. Doll has worked and engaged in Private offices, Medical Ophthalmology groups (High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Macular Degeneration, & Cataract evaluations), Commercial offices, Lasik Surgery Center, and his own business. Because of this tenure, he has extensive experience with General eye exams, both children and adults, Contact lens exams, and Medical exams.
For over 5 years, Dr. Doll worked strictly with a Laser Surgery Center. Here they performed Lasik Eye Surgery, Pterygium Surgery, and Cataract surgery. He has co-managed over 15,000 cases of Laser Eye Corrective Surgery (most notably Lasik Surgery with Wavefront technology), and loves to see the freedom patients gain with this procedure. In addition, he was the leading Optometrist involved with Lasik Surgery research.
Dr. Doll enjoys working with his patients, and strives to give them something new and beneficial. He wants to give those new eyeglass wearers the comfort and feel of new vision. He wants to give those contact lens wearers new better designs to give them better comfort and vision. For those who were told they could never wear contacts, he will find them a contact lens they can wear. Those presbyopic patients who don’t want to wear reading glasses, he will give them Bifocal Contacts (Monovision or Multifocal Contacts).
“I love it when some one comes in and says they were told they can’t wear contacts because of astigmatism, too much prescription, or need for bifocals; and I say sure you can. All we need to do is do a fitting. They are so amazed we could do this for them.”
In his spare time, Dr. Doll enjoys spending time with his wife and family and his friends. He and his wife have one daughter and one son. He loves to travel, enjoys playing sports, and trying a variety of exotic foods.
